(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 13, 2010 )
Though it’s a bare market for anyone looking for employment, there has never been a more relevant time for you to consider getting your nursing degree. Probably the most pertinent topic on everybody’s lips is the spread of the H1N1 Virus. The whole world is in constant panic over infection and the spreading therein. It’s a veritable open casting call for nurses nowadays.
If you’ve considered becoming a Resident Nurse or a full time Nurse Practitioner, then this should be all the impetus you need to stop wasting your time and getting one of the most highly sought after degrees. You’ve got to make your presence known in the medical world as there is a need for licensed nurses out there. Let’s be frank; we could all do with a little more help in the medical industry. Instead of waiting for the next nurse on staff, which oddly enough could be about two or three in any given doctor’s office, turnaround time could be quicker and more people could be getting their needs met without having to wait for hours, needlessly spreading more of their sickness as the clock ticks.
All the fatalistic visions of a widespread plague epidemic, the truth is there’s no career more viable than that of a nursing career. What you’ve got to do is get yourself licenses and strapped with the proper credentials to get your name at the top of the list for any medical practice hiring nurses. There are a number of online healthcare degree programs out there that will get you on the right path the nursing career you’ve dreamed of. Degree.com, http://www.degree.com/ the Premier Internet Portal for Online Study, has helped many a nursing student in their search for a degree program that will get them the credentials they need to get the nursing job they want. With the directorship of Professor Sheila Danzig, Degree.com has become the forerunner in degree acquisition and has helped thousands of students get their advanced degrees with relative ease and speed.
More important than simply earning a degree is finding an online degree that you can acquire quickly and with as little fuss as possible. After all, no one wants to have to go through the turmoil of years of waiting to get the accreditation needed to secure residencies and, of course, nursing positions. An online education not only ensures that you’ll get a viable nursing degree, it also ensure that you you’ll get your degree in as little as one year. Nursing degrees are a necessity in this day and age when the world is constantly plagued with fear of becoming infected with some airborne disease, and what’s more, having to wait in line for the next available nurse. If you’re looking to start your life on a career path that’s both highly lucrative and incredibly rewarding, earning your degree quickly and simply may be the step you need. Don’t waste anymore of your time; get your nursing degree and begin to change the lives of the people who need it most.

Even in a bad economy the boom in the IT industry is creating more jobs and creating some of the most financially-rewarding careers. It is expected that more Americans will be moving on to IT, and IT college courses turning out more graduates.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 04, 2009 ) Fort Lauderdale/Miami – A study recently released by the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) revealed that the highest-paying “hot jobs” will be in the field of Information Technology, a sector of industry which practically didn’t exist 25 years ago.
In this age of outsourcing, low-level IT jobs like data entry are usually sent to offshore locations with cheaper labor, and skilled IT jobs such as technical support and programming are outsourced to places like India and the Philippines where skilled labor is becoming increasingly available. Despite this, confidence is still high that in the next ten years highly-skilled jobs that focus on business process and direct client interaction will continue to grow significantly and will be the among the best paid in the industry. The average median wage for jobs that are most in demand in this sector is $71,470.00, more than double than that of the national average. Information Technology is expected to grow 26% in ten years and jobs in this sector are expected to pay more than in other fields.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 70% of IT professionals have Bachelor’s degrees or higher. Ironically though, as Information technology is a new industry, majority (66%) of IT workers hold degrees in non-IT related fields. This shows that having a quality post-secondary education, regardless of the field of specialization allows individuals to excel in their chosen careers even if their formal education is in an unrelated discipline.
Majority of new IT professionals are holders of associate and bachelor’s degrees in various Information Technology degree programs. BS in Information Technology, being the most common can be augmented with various online certification courses for hardware and software.
The continuing growth in the IT sector has also prompted forward-thinking Americans to shift careers to where the grass is greener. Distance learning and online universities allow career men and women to earn a degree online while still employed in another sector of industry.
According to Sheila Danzig, Executive Director of online education portal degree.com; “The shift to IT has been amazing. The best paying jobs in IT are looking for degree holders with expertise in IT Architecture, IT Security, Project Management and Business Process Modeling. We are expecting many Americans in other fields to start on cross-training by enrolling in online IT degrees. Likewise, IT professionals are looking for additional certification through online courses to supplement their credentials.”

Job growth in careers requiring a degrees are expected to grow at almost double the rate than that of the national average. Corporate America is in need of more Degree holders to fill in their ranks, and Americans are responding by taking on post-secondar
(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 03, 2009 ) Fort Lauderdale/Miami FL, Despite the current economic recession, it is expected that demand for college degree holders will continue to increase. In a recent study released by the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC), jobs requiring associate degrees are expected to increase at nearly twice than that of jobs not requiring a college education.
With the United States now focused more on services rather than manufacturing, demand for highly-educated and skilled labor force has also been on the rise. Colleges, and universities, as well as online learning and distance learning schools are providing the skilled and highly-educated workforce the economy needs. The United States’ key strength is still the availability of well-educated and skilled workers.
The increased demand for degree holders has also seen working Americans taking the initiative for continued education. According to Sheila Danzig, Executive Director of online education portal Degree.com, www.degree.com/; “We have recently seen a substantial increase in enrollment rates for associate and bachelor’s degrees from online universities, this only means that workers are keen to upgrade their knowledge and skill sets in order to reap the benefits of having better educational credentials, such as a better pay grade and significantly improved opportunities for career growth.”
Senior management and high level executive positions are likewise requiring candidates to have at least a doctorate degree. According to statistics from the Bureau of Labor, job openings for PhD holders are expected to experience the most growth, a 21.6% increase in a 10-year period from 2006 to 2016, while demand for associate degree and master’s degree holders are expected to grow by 18.7 and 18.9 %, respectively, during the same period.
Job growth in occupations requiring only a high school diploma is estimated to be at an average of only 10% for a period of 10 years. And opportunities abound for workers willing to take the extra step in upgrading their academic credentials. President Obama himself encouraged Americans to pursue additional education and training in a speech to Congress last February; “I ask every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training. This can be community college or a four-year school; vocational training or an apprenticeship. But whatever the training may be, every American will need to get more than just a high school diploma.” President Obama said.
With encouragement and incentives coming from both the public and private sectors making post-secondary education easier to attain, as well as with the added convenience of online learning, we can expect many new degree holders filling the ranks of corporate America very soon.

Concluding 12 years of research the US Department of Education has found that an online degree indicates a higher level of performance than traditional study.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 24, 2009 ) Miami, Florida – Recently, the SRI International for the Department of Education presented a 93-page report based on one of the hot topics these days i.e. online education.
Unexpected but true, the report concludes that students following an online educational program demonstrate a better performance as compared to students attending the traditional instructive programs.
The results of the report are based on the extensive research on online teaching against the usual classroom teaching from 1996 to 2008. Although some part of it was in K-12 settings, a greater part of the research was completed at the level of colleges and adult continuing-education programs of various sorts, ranging from medical instruction to the military training.
The analysis was based on the 99 studies dealing with points, determining which sort of education (online or class room) is suitable for student performance in the different educational courses. It then became apparent from the facts of those studies that on the average, students following a few or a number of courses online would possibly rank in the 59th percentile in terms of tested performance, whereas the average classroom student would score in the 50th percentile. Now, this assumption reflects a considerable amount of significant difference in both the learning systems.
According to Barbara Means, the lead author of the study and an instructive psychologist the study is actually meant to promote the fact that online study these days is far better than the conventional educational strategies. However, this in no way means that it is time to say farewell to classrooms. The main idea of the study is to promote online education at an advanced level for an improved and convenient educational system. And the reason behind online education’s success is the progress in technology and the addition of advanced online tools, which have together made online learning much better and easier.
According to experts, online education, including both the degree.com bachelor degree and graduate degree, plays a key role in providing individual attention to each student that becomes extremely difficult in a classroom having loads of students. Therefore, a huge student majority finds this system more engaging and beneficial than the traditional one.
Dean Philip R. Regier says, “We are at an inflection point in online education.” In accordance with Mr. Regier’s prediction, the greatest near-term growth will prove to be in continuing instructive programs. As a matter of fact, a typical university accommodates 5,000 students in its continuing education programs, both through in-person classes and online courses. If this educational trend continues to maintain its popularity, the strength of students is expected to triple within the coming three to five years.
On the other hand, it is believed that online education can further play a role in completely converting college campuses too. Today, universities and several K-12 schools are making use of online educational management systems, such as the Blackboard or the open-source Moodle. These are widely used in submitting coursework, reading lists, and class timetable and even hosting certain Web discussion boards.
It is because of the increased involvement of social networking technology, things appear to be quite different. Students will not only help themselves but learn to assist others as well. For instance, it will be understood that college students are familiar with the fundamentals of calculus, and the classroom time will emphasize more on relating the math to real-world problems — possibly in understanding the physics of weather changes or ups and downs in stock rates. This means that people can attain a degree faster and easier today than ever.
According to Mr. Regier, the latest educational strategy can play a key role in the development of learning communities in the middle of students in a variety of ways. It is true that online learning will give education a new face- something beyond the classrooms. Education will then be independent, available for anyone residing anywhere. This certainly can change the way we work and can surely influence the literacy levels in a positive manner.

Last year, the economists admitted it. The U.S. has been in a recession since early 2007. There’s no end currently in sight. Despite the stimulus packages and financial bailouts, Chrysler has filed bankruptcy and GM is close to the edge. Surprisingly, or not so surprisingly, this dim economic forecast has resulted in a marked spike in interest concerning higher education.
In fact, interest in online degree programs rose by about ten percent last quarter. This interest in distance learning reflects the national trend toward online education. Currently, more than 4 million persons are enrolled in distance learning degree programs, and this number only continues to rise.
The current economic crisis is also partly responsible for the increased interest in distance education. People are reluctant to leave stable job positions to go back to college and earn a degree. Online degree universities, however, allow people to finish their college educations without quitting their jobs and mortgaging their homes. With major corporations such as Microsoft, as well as many banking institutions, also reducing their workforces, people just aren’t taking chances with their financial security.
Higher education institutions, though, are reaping a benefit: More people are returning to school to sharpen their skills and cross-train for increased job security. Furthermore, interest is very high in areas such as nursing and other healthcare-related fields, where jobs are still available and personnel are in high demand. This trend toward enrollment in high-need fields will help to relieve the intense nursing shortage predicted by healthcare experts as the baby boomer generation reaches retirement.
Hopefully, economic experts and government officials will soon get the national economy back on track. In the meantime, people are banking their futures in higher educations. Sensible. Investing in personal improvement almost always pays off in the end. The challenge, however, is in bridging the financial gap during that transition.

For more than a century, America has been referred to as a “melting pot” with regard to its cultural diversity. This diversity, however, is often not appreciated or understood. Now, a prominent legal organization is offering grants to primary and secondary school teachers interested in increasing their students knowledge of immigration and cultural issues.
The American Immigration Law Foundation has offered grants of up to $500 to teachers who develop projects designed to education students about current issues in immigration and cultural diversity. Distance learning secondary schools may be considered, but traditional classroom-based schools will receive the highest priority. The November 28 deadline for application submission is rapidly approaching.
Distance education programs are often a solution for many students who have difficulty dealing with issues related to ethnic diversity or interpersonal relationships. Distance degree programs in secondary education, however, don’t really resolve this issue, but rather help students who cannot at that moment confront the problems effectively.
Online degree programs for secondary students are an effective means of learning academics, but don’t often help students to resolve problems such as these. Although elementary and secondary teachers often face more conflict in traditional classrooms, this can be an effective venue for teaching about and helping to resolve issues of diversity.

Fact and Fantasy: What is Distance Learning?
You have probably watched hundreds of television or internet commercials urging you to get a degree from home. Mail flyers advertise online correspondence courses, claiming that you can get an instant degree with only a quick application and little effort. Do you really know the facts about what online degree completion really requires? Check your information and determine how much of the truth you actually know!
A number of different technologies are used in distance learning degree programs. Online undergraduate degree programs, for example, are held over the Internet. Most online learning experiences take place individually, as the student checks in, receives the assignment, and posts messages on the chatboard or interacts with classmates through email. At least one of these online degree courses, however, was held live in the virtual community of Second Life, a popular online website. Perhaps this will be the future wave of online education!
Other students have worked to earn their degrees by taking classes broadcast over television or pre-recorded on videotape. CD-Rom, cassette tapes, and FM radio have also been used to distribute education information. Before the arrival of the Internet, however, most people who wanted to earn a degree at home used old-fashioned mail to receive and return correspondence course materials. There was, of course, a much longer turnaround time. This process involved mailing the completed assignment to the professor, having it graded and approved, and receiving and completing the next assignment. Although dated, this option is still available through some universities.
The Internet has made continuing education, as well as earning an undergraduate degree or graduate degree, much more convenient and feasible. Unfortunately, however, it has also resulted in the spread of many unaccredited universities claiming to offer their students fast degree completion with little effort. The degrees from these universities are worthless, and people spend large amounts of money for a meaningless piece of paper.
A number of accredited online university programs offer excellent education to their students. Moreover, employers are beginning to recognize the value of online education. In many cases, they will accept a degree from an online program as readily as one from a traditional college.
If you are interested in obtaining a distance learning degree, do your homework and find an accredited online university. Don’t allow the fantasy of getting a college degree in a few months to cloud your vision. The fact is, a bachelor’s degree takes three to four years to complete, whether you are doing it online or on a college campus. Stay smart, and don’t let a dream of pie in the sky disrupt your educational career.
