Business Management Degree: A Piece of Paper Guaranteed to Make ‘Paper’(Money).

With the increase of complex corporations, business schools have made the decision to increase the number of specializations to meet their needs. This has led to increased demand of business management majors leading to ucrative salary packages.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 29, 2010 ) Miami, FL
With a declining economy, the only way to get ahead and remain safely buckled is by earning a graduate degree or undergraduate degree in Business Management which will keep you and your business afloat amidst the recession.

Today’s economy has a great affinity for students with business management degrees from accredited colleges or universities. Business colleges, in a bid to send in qualified graduates into the job market now provide more than just the traditional business administration. More specialized options have been availed to the students such as: human resources, supply chain logistics and information technology to enable them to handle demands of large and complex organizations.

Starting salaries for undergraduate business majors with a bachelors degree can range anywhere from $35,000 to $50,000. The starting salary is primarily dependent on the chosen specialty and location (geographic) of the job. The most common majors that people graduate in are generally: administration, finance, marketing, accounting and economics. However, since most colleges require students to take core courses, there are certain jobs that all majors can perfectly fit in and perform at an optimum level. For instance, a finance major can adequately handle tasks that would be ideal for an accounting major. The three specializations which offer the most lucrative salaries and job opportunities are in financial services, health care and information technology. Accounting majors with CPA accreditation have the most stable jobs since their [certified] demand is always less than their supply – any time, good times or bad.

Founder of Degree.com, http://www.degree.com, the premier internet portal for online study, Sheila Danzig, in an a press conference said that, “Students patient enough to pursue their graduate business management degree and finally earn their Masters in Business Administration especially from top tier colleges, increase their chances of getting employed and of course their earning power.” She went on to disclose that qualified MBAs generally earn anything ranging from $60,000 going higher into the six-figure category. MBA specialties e.g. IT and finance graduate majors, bag an average of $80,000. Executive MBA holders (experienced professionals) rake in $100,000.

Danzig was keen to caution students that money, although important, shouldn’t be the only motivating factor to get a business management degree. She insisted on passion, personal drives among other points to consider.

With this degree, and particularly a major in one of the high demand specialties, their graduates will face no difficulty in securing employment and will be highly sought after.

Graduate and undergraduate Business Management programs offer online courses in many many accredited distance learning institutions. A good place for you to start the brief journey which will secure your future is by comparing different online colleges at www.degree.com before zeroing in on one.

Women and the MBA: Bridging the Gender Gap

Over the years women have been bridging the divide between them and their male counterparts in the business world. Now more than ever, there is hope for surpassing and not only bridging the gap.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 28, 2010 ) Fort Lauderdale, FL
Over the years, women have been bridging the divide between them and their male counterparts in the business world. Now more than ever, thanks to Forte Foundation, which helps women in getting MBAs and top positions in organizations, there is hope for surpassing and not only bridging the gap.
Many years back, it was believed that women were cut out to fill just but a few positions in society – non including those in the corporate world. Their roles included being: homemakers, mothers, daughters, wives and much later in life, ‘graduate’ becoming grandmothers. With the progression of days, women started breaking out of the cocoon and started competing with their male counterparts: at an equal footing almost. Women are getting empowered with not only bachelor’s college degrees but also MBAs. Although the divide is still small between men and women, it has been bridged noticeably with more and more women taking charge of executive boards.
In business school, the dust doesn’t seem like it will settle anytime soon, as the fight for an equal footing is greatly underway. Ellisa Ellis-Sangster, executive director of the Forte Foundation which strives at educating young women and network them to land business leadership positions, commented that the number of women MBAs has significantly increased as 30 – 40% of students currently working on their MBAs are women.
A part time junior at a New York based business school said that, even at the undergraduate level, students aren’t really encouraged to pursue their MBAs. Asked whether she would pursue an advanced degree, she admitted she was unsure but she knew it would give her monetary gain and leverage compared to her counterparts. “My boss has told me that most companies will just throw more money at you if you have a master’s. And as unfortunate as it is, women still do make less money overall than men do in today’s economy. So anything they can do to make extra bucks, such as getting an MBA, is probably a very smart idea,” she said.

According to Sheila Danzig, founder of Degree.com, http://www.degree.com, the premier internet portal for online study, women do have concerns (or fears) when it comes to doing an MBA. “Women find it difficult to balance between studying, raising their families and at the same time, handling their office position and responsibilities. It is challenging, but with the wonders of online MBA courses, there is hope at the end of the tunnel,” she encouraged.

Ellisa Ellis-Sangster, in a bid to win the woman’s right to MBAs believes that getting the information pertaining to the importance of getting MBAs at an early stage to women, is paramount. We aim to bring companies and schools together that are interested in having more women in MBA programs,” she says. “We want to educate young women about opportunities because the younger you can get the message out, the faster you can get them out into the world. If they find out they are interested later in life, they may not get in as successfully.”

By women getting to know of female role models who have made it in life by pursuing their MBAs, they can get inspired to do the same. Take Shelly Lazarus for instance – one of the four women who graduated with an MBA from Columbia in 1970. She is currently the CEO of Ogilvy and Mather, which is one of the largest advertisement agencies in the world which serves clients such as IBM and American Express.

Is the Internet a Legitimate Source for Graduate Education?

Many people cannot sacrifice their lives for the chance to earn a graduate degree; however, the number of accredited online universities has allowed them to consider this time cost and time efficient alternative.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 28, 2010 ) Fort Lauderdale, FL
Anyone that has been forced into the capitalist machine knows that in order to become a viable part of the economy and stand out from the crowd, one must receive a graduate degree from an accredited university.

However, the weight of that task can cause many students to fail before they start. The truth is without a graduate education, there’s no actual hope of finding financial success in the business world, so where does that leave those students who can’t monetarily or mentally afford to give up their jobs and head back to study.

The retention rate of most accredited graduate universities is falling. It’s a state of being that many students can’t manage to pay for graduate degrees, especially since they will be losing income at the same time. But, how can one ensure their future without it? More and more online universities are graduate degrees that are fully accepted by employers. This gives giving traditional and non-traditional students alike the opportunities they deserve.

How Graduate Degrees are Benefitting Women in the Workplace

With an advanced degree in a particular field, women have the chance to rise up the socio-economic ladder and still maintain a stable home life.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 28, 2010 ) Washington, DC
Let’s be honest; a woman, no matter how advanced society proclaims to be, is still behind a man in Corporate America. We’ve had the ability to climb from destitution to the top of the ladder in some aspects; however, if it’s hard for anyone to get a strong foothold in the world market, it’s even more so for women, who always have the hardest time reaching the highest heights. As it is, there’s no way that one can differentiate herself from the established hierarchy unless she has an advanced degree in a particular specification.

Advancing your career is already an incredible task. When you have no advanced credentials with which to establish yourself to an employer, it’s hard to give yourself the chance you need to make your mark. As it is, more women are finding themselves placed at the top of the corporate hierarchy. How are they establishing themselves as such forces –with advanced degrees. There’s nothing more impressive than a degree from a university that’s both accredited and has some semblance of a recognizable name. Because the dynamics of the home structure has begun to change more and more, it’s important for women to feel as if their lives at home are perfect balance with their careers.

It is not just the prospect of earning recognition in the business world that has women marking their territory with great ferocity. It’s the idea of carving a more positive identity for themselves while still being able to keep their dominance in their own homes. It’s the positive reinforcement that they are their own women and have absolute control over their destinies, their own lives. Earning a college degree online may be one of the best ways that any woman (any person than that matter) to make sure that they’re ahead of the curve, at the top of the applicant’s pile. It is a fair assessment that any woman with a degree will make herself even more of a force to be reckoned with. The secret to getting ahead has always been the difference between those who have higher level credentials and those who have the basic credentials to perhaps eek by with an entry level position. An online graduate degree can be the answer for most women. On line studies allows women to earn that degree while taking care of a home and working. Online study gives flexibility that simply does not exist in the brick and mortar world. A masters degree gives women a step up on the competition.

When it comes to gathering the right information to make sure that you’re giving yourself the most opportunities, there’s nothing wrong with getting a little help from the professionals. Degree.com, http://www.degree.com/ the Premier Internet Portal for Online Study, has helped steer many people in the right direction as regards their careers and the scope of their future. As the Director of Degree.com, Professor Sheila Danzig has been a crucial part in making it easier for women (and men) to further their careers and give themselves the chance to make a stamp in the professional world.

Education in a Flash: Fast Track Your Graduate Education Online

The stress of getting a graduate degree while balancing your job and personal life has lead people to graduate online education.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 26, 2010 ) Chicago IL

With so much at stake in this shaky economy, many find it hard to make time to study, work, and have a social life. When it comes right down to it, there should be a healthy balance of work and family life to make anyone a viable competitor in the business world. Unfortunately for most, work outweighs family almost five times to one, leaving many a student with an uncomfortable amount of stress and, in the long run, a fizzling ambition for bigger and better things.

“All work and no play make Jack a dull boy.” It’s not just a saying, it’s an affirmative. Most people who consider résumés are looking for a candidate with extensive education as well as an interesting perspective on their personal life. For those seeking a graduate college degree, it’s imperative that they keep their personal life steady in order to keep their academic life fresh. Today the heady responsibilities of traditional masters or doctorate degree are too difficult to handle while working full time.

There is so much stress put on graduate students to succeed above and beyond expectations it is impossible for them to skate by. Online degrees allow students to study at a reasonable pace and acquire a legitimate degree. There’s no reason that graduate study has to be a laborious task. If you want to get a graduate degree but do not have the time -or the patience- to drive to class, fight traffic, search for parking and then sit through hours of classes, there a re number of degree programs online that allow you to work on your schedule from home.

The retention rate for most big name universities is slipping among graduate students. The combination of expenses and unfeasible work schedules makes it nearly impossible to understand how many survive graduate study in this environment. For the most part, a graduate student is paying for -and therefore must attend- about 45 to 60 credit hours. Because universities err on the side of business rather than education, most students either have to take out irrational loans or have to work full time to meet expenses. Online universities give you the option of attending class for little more than five hours a week, giving you time to work and build a career.

Degree.com, (http://www.degree.com) – The Premier Internet Portal for Online Study has helped graduate students find the time and the energy to earn their degree and still maintain a healthy personal life. Professor Sheila Danzig, Director of Degree.com, has helped many students find the proper balance between academia and life experience.

Graduate School: Insurance for Your Future Success

With fewer jobs and more applicants, a graduate degree can be your answer to today’s crisis and your future success.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 26, 2010 ) Los Angeles, CA – Graduate education is essential for maintaining a vibrant economy and healthy communities especially in the face of increasing global competition. The only way that we can hope to move beyond the status quo is by embracing new ideas, and engaging in research to discover new knowledge and new ways of doing things.

John Burroughs’ famous quote, “For anything worth having one must pay the price; and the price is always work, patience, love and self sacrifice,” encompasses traits necessary to achieving graduate degrees – Masters and/or PhDs. The process of securing graduate degrees cannot be taken lightly.

Typically, graduate studies result in being awarded an online masters degree and/or a doctorate. These degrees can be as a result of accredited distance learning or traditional learning environments. Depending on the pace of study, a masters program can take one to two years of coursework, examinations that cover practically everything in the coursework and usually: a thesis.

Doctoral programs (depending on the pace) can take anywhere between two to four years of coursework, exams as well as a dissertation. Dissertations are the scholars’ original research written under guidance of a supervisor or a committee comprising of faculty members.
As is evident, very few people wield masters and/or PhDs and it comes as no surprise that they are now becoming entry level requirements for the prestigious professional and academic positions. Looking more keenly on the issue, there’s an acute shortage of African-Americans with advanced degrees, particularly, the PhD. A reversal of the situation is required – urgently. African-Americans are not only required to enroll in MBA courses, but also doctorate classes in order to provide research and instruction in all fields of knowledge. Noticing this dearth, African-American’s have decided to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. An African-American PhD candidate at a reputable institution of research spoke with nostalgia saying, “I remember being a sophomore and it became clear (that) I had to become part of the solution rather than part of the problem.” You too can be a part of the solution by pursuing doctoral study.
“A Ph.D. in mathematics is a perfect idea for me. Obtaining a Ph.D. allows for tremendous flexibility and increased opportunities in anyone’s professional career path. My choice to pursue a doctorate in mathematics affords me the opportunity to conduct research, to develop curricula and programs, and to teach math in an engaging style to facilitate better understanding. I’ve made a great choice,” reiterated a PhD student in Maryland.
According to Sheila Danzig, founder of Degree.com, http://www.degree.com, the premier internet portal for undergraduate and graduate online study, “Graduate school has opened many doors and has provided meaningful opportunities. Not only does graduate training ‘open doors’ with which we are familiar, it can help identify a lot of doors that, prior to that journey, people never imagined existed.”
As the dismal financial atmosphere continues to wreak havoc, your security lies in what you know (coursework) and what you have done about it (research).

Nurses – Increase your earnings and stand out from the crowd in a bad economy.

With larger numbers of nursing graduates preparing to seek employment, cross-training through specialized online degree programs will help you stand out.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 25, 2010 ) Miami, FL – Not long ago, “economy” was a term indicating low cost, no frills. Today, the economy is in every day’s headlines, influencing lives in a major way. The last few months have proven that no business is immune to failure, and no job is forever. With current unemployment high and not likely to change direction soon, many are returning to school to begin life at a new profession. For these non-traditional students, planning for the future begins with choosing a degree program.

Unless you’re pursuing a personal dream career, education decisions usually begin with consulting job growth potential reports. Logically, the direction most students will take depends on where job growth is projected. Combined with the Obama administration’s emphasis on higher education, professions reigning at the top of the opportunity list have subsequently seen college enrollment numbers skyrocket almost overnight. Teach for America , one of many programs developed to remedy teacher shortages in low-income areas by providing alternative teacher certification, reports having received 35,000 candidates vying for 4,100 spots available in 2009.

Public response to recent economic forecasts have been likened to sounding an air horn in a herd of sheep. Presently, nursing and IT careers are reportedly at the top of the list. What will the impact of those predictions be for those now in training? Is it even possible to plan for the future anymore? With a little street-smart foresight, it may still be. Adding a bit of diversity now to your educational portfolio could one day be the flare that gets you noticed in a sea of applicants.

Though greater numbers of registered nurses seeking employment in the near future is almost certain, it’s unlikely that we would experience a glut of trained nursing professionals in search of work. However, just as in any industry, certain types of positions are more desirable than others, and for these, competition is sure to be high. As numerous qualified candidates join the workforce, the need to have a unique advantage, such as a specialization or a skill not commonly associated with traditional nursing duties, could alter the job landscape.

If forecasts prove to be accurate, a registered nurse with a certificate or Associate’s degree in a computer technology field could be the HR discovery of a lifetime, making for a much better investment as an employee than the candidate whose scope is limited to strictly nursing. The impending national shift to a networked health records system could make a nurse with information technology skills a highly valuable asset to a private medical practice. Likewise, a nurse that also has a medical coding background can significantly improve the overall efficiency of a medical office.

Though working nurses now are relatively secure in their professional future, the bar is being raised by the increasing number of their newly educated soon-to-be colleagues. Sheila Danzig, director of Degree.com, (http://www.degree.com) states that college courses available through accredited distance learning programs online have contributed greatly to enrollment increases. But, she is quick to add, learning has no shelf life, and current professionals can also take advantage of various online study programs, such as an Associate’s degree in a computer-related field, in order to add the extra impact that could greatly advance their career one day. On line study can be the ticket to a job in these troubled times.

Is a Ph.D. really for you?

Before you enter a Ph.D. program look at what you want and understand what direction it will take you.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 25, 2010 ) Fort Lauderdale, FL – A PhD has many benefits outside the confines of a career, doctoral research is a personal journey that changes all that undertake and complete it. Unless you are prepared for radical change then don’t get involved in a PhD.

Depending on one’s degree program, college or university, a PhD can be earned in 7 to 12 years after completion of high school. There is no clear-cut period after which individuals are awarded a PhD – it’s relative depending on the pace of study. For instance, on line studies are self paced depending on how busy someone is. For the busy students, an absolute minimum of four hours a day is recommended. In traditional colleges, flexibility of hours taken in lectures is reduced to some extent; hence a more defined period of attaining a PhD can be calculated. No matter which pace one decides on, earning a PhD is no simple feat and requires a lot of time, dedication and stress.

The question is: Is it really worth it in the long run?

Internationally, many colleges offer undergraduates with first degrees, who have excelled with first class honors, the privilege of registering for a Master of Philosophy (Mphil) program with the flexibility of transferring to doctoral study if he or she so pleases. Another avenue to doctoral studies is when someone is in possession of a second degree. In such a case, one is eligible to register for either a taught course or independent doctoral study.

“Taught PhDs are a new phenomenon in the international higher education system,” said Sheila Danzig, founder of Degree.com, http://www.degree.com, the premier internet portal for online study, “unlike the traditional PhDs, they may not be available in all countries,” she added. Traditional PhDs emanate from a scholar’s work on their second degree where they stumble upon a discovery which warrants further and in-depth investigation. Essentially, a person taking a PhD wants to make a contribution to a field of knowledge.

Usually, getting a doctorate results in several job offers – mostly research and at times, teaching. If research doesn’t interest you as an individual then it would be futile to pursue a doctorate.
From a study conducted on PhD holders, results showed that they face a lot of pressure to publish their works – in form of books or scholarly journals – otherwise they won’t progress very far. The study showed that this is more so in USA than in the UK particularly because the UK dropped tenure altogether for those joining the academic community after the late 1980s. In the States, after being awarded a PhD, the scholar requires to engage in further research and publish his findings otherwise he or she will obtain work as assistant Professor.

To attain the much coveted tenure of professorship is not easy and new researchers have found this out the hard way since those currently in the tenured position hardly retire and some have even maintained their positions well into their eighties.

America that offer the doctorate degree in conjunction with and giving credit for work you are currently doing. For more information contact centralamericaneducation@gmail.com

Whether a PhD is important, in a nutshell, all depends on what you want from it. If it is a means to an end – like unfathomable riches – it might not be worth undertaking, as such ends can be arrived at by using easier means. Those who view being awarded a PhD as an end in itself take pride in the act itself, owing to the time and energy spent in working towards getting one, get full gratification of getting tenured into the academic community.

On the horizon we are seeing alternative programs in Central America that offer the doctorate degree in conjunction with and giving credit for work you are currently doing. This is NOT credit for life experience and is fully accredited. For more information contact centralamericaneducation@gmail.com
